How it was introduced
Previously, it was not possible to track the entry and exit of workers on construction sites, so it was not possible to total workers’ hours and manage movement information. There was a need to track the status of workers on construction sites for safety and workability reasons.
We proposed the operation of a system and the installation of hardware equipment to monitor the entry and exit of workers using UHF RFID technology.

Pre-implementation issues

①Difficult and time-consuming to keep track of entry and exit
Many subcontractors enter and leave the site through multiple entrances and exits, making it time-consuming to keep track of the situation. Mistakes are also made in the preparation of various reports due to the transcription of handwritten documents.
②Knowing when workers enter and leave
Until now, we have not managed workers’ time in and time out, but with RFID management, we want to be able to accurately monitor each worker’s travel time and working hours.

③Want to ensure worker safety
We want to apply this to roll call checks to see if anyone is missing in the event of a disaster.
We want to make sure that the roll call checks are carried out within a limited time frame, rather than the traditional method of checking each person individually.
System features and functions.
Operation flow

Grasping the entry and exit of workers

A reader/writer installed at the entrance/exit provides hands-free personal authentication by reading the IC tags attached to workers’ helmets and real-time entry/exit information.
Preparation of records

Records can be easily created and each employee’s travel history can be used to determine time spent, which can be used for proper work allocation and staffing.
Improved security measures

It also makes it easier to locate workers in the event of a disaster. After an evacuation, a roll call can be conducted quickly and easily by batch reading UHF RFID.
