By using UHF-band RFID linen tags, we can read linen items such as uniforms and bed sheets, and achieve centralized management of usage counts, history management, and inbound/outbound inspections. In hotels and restaurants, linen items such as uniforms, bed sheets, and towels are collected by cleaning companies after use, and then new ones are delivered as needed. However, managing a large number of items is a challenge, and inspection work takes a lot of time. In addition, without serial management, it was difficult to determine the usage count that would serve as the disposal criteria, and measures against illegal possession and theft were not in place. By utilizing UHF-band RFID linen tags, bulk inspections of usage counts and delivery quantities become possible, leading to management of usage counts and prevention of theft through serial management.
①Counting takes time & barcode rubbing is a concern
There are many scenes where linen types and numbers are counted manually, which takes a considerable amount of time. Accurate quantity management with minimal errors is required as the next shipment volume is determined based on the number used. Barcode management is also possible, but rubbing of the printed parts due to repeated washing is a problem.
②Difficulty in understanding the number of uses and location management
Without assigning individual numbers to each linen product, it is impossible to understand how many times each linen product has been used. It is impossible to operate a system where they are discarded after a certain number of uses, and there is a risk of shipping deteriorated products. Additionally, without tracking usage history, it is impossible to know where and how many linen products there are, which can lead to missing returns or unauthorized use.
③Unable to track misuse, loss, or theft
Theft of uniforms and linen products as property has become a problem, with a risk of identity theft through fraudulent use. Also, individual management linked with user information is not being done, making it difficult to track lost or stolen items, and there is a low level of user awareness.

Batch reading with linen tags allows the number and type of sheets to be identified in a short time. (handheld, UHF tunnel/gate, etc.) Accurate stock control is possible as counting errors due to miscounting can be avoided. Unlike barcodes, the system can read even if the surface is distorted or scratched, allowing quick inspections without worrying about the reading direction.
Serial management allows you to monitor the number of times they are used and where they go
Tagging and serialising linen items provides information on how many times the item has been used, enabling the ‘throw away after a certain number of uses’ policy to be applied. Knowing when and where linen items are and how many have been used means that any omissions or misuse can be quickly identified.
Registration by linking the user to the system deters unauthorised use and theft
When registering a loan at a hotel, individual management can be linked to user information to deter theft and unauthorised use. Integrating user registration into the operation improves management awareness of each hotel user and prevents loss.
